Call Treasurer Pellicciotti: Vote for Climate Justice!

Since the Paris Agreement was adopted, Chase bank has provided the fossil fuel industry with $382 billion — the WA pension fund owns $504 million in Chase shares.

Office of the State Treasurer: (360)-902-9000

Call Script: “Hi, I’m a Washington state resident and I’m calling to ask that Treasurer Pellicciotti use his power as a board member to ensure that the Washington pension fund votes in favor of climate and Indigenous rights resolutions at banks and insurance companies this spring. There are four resolutions at Citi, Chase, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America that we need Washington to support. One resolution calls for a phase-out of fossil fuel financing, one calls for banks to respect Indigenous rights, another is an anti-greenwashing resolution, and the other calls for banks to release clear climate plans. Last year, the state pension fund opposed all climate and Indigenous rights resolutions at US banks -- which are the world’s largest funders of fossil fuels. We need that to change.

Will the State Treasurer do what he can to make sure we’re protecting against climate risk and supporting these critical climate resolutions?”
